about

NOW & THE VISION

WilsonHaus has a goal to open our doors to intakes in autumn of 2024. The vision is to start small and intentionally, growing both our financial runway, experience and network of individuals and organizations that would like to be involved with our vision.

In the beginning, our primary focus will be to give dogs in over capacity shelters their second chance. Our headquarters in Appleton, Wisconsin has kennel space for four dogs at a time. The plan is to be able to grow our network of trusted FOSTERHAUS homes to give more dogs a safe and soft place to land while we rehabilitate and search for the perfect match in an adoption family.

Our vision over the next 5-7 years is to continue to be able to save enough to open a foster and rescue facility that will be able to be a safe haven for dogs and equines. We envision foster pods, sprawling acreage, memory gardens, dog enrichment and training areas, as well as the capability to offer hydrotherapy for both dogs and horses.

We are comitted to doing rescue well and thorough - ensuring that each animal that enters our care gets all they need to not only survive but thrive.

preventioN

Prevention is a vital part of rescue. WilsonHaus is committed to being a part of the solution and assisting with spay and neuter initiatives. We believe in assisting rescues doing community spay & neuter events in over populated areas, such as This Is Houston who offers a community alteration

awareness & education

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” —Nelson Mandela

Educating the public, understanding barriers and spreading awareness only strengthens our collective voice for the voiceless.

collaboration

We can do more when we work together. Teaming up with like minded organizations can deepen our impact, save and change more lives and bring people together working towards a common goal. We believe in community over competition and that ego has no place in rescue

community outreach

Sometimes the PEOPLE of rescue need a helping hand as well. Keeping animals out of the shelter systems and with those that love and care about them lessens heartache and suffering.

“Our mission is to ensure that any animal that enters our stewardship receives all of the tools, love and care necessary to lead a happy and healthy life with the best outcome. We aim to make a positive impact on individual animals as well as assist with interventions that lessen suffering for animals as a whole.”
